About Me
Things you might want to know
Hello students, parents, colleagues, and other readers, my name is Mariko Horikawa. I am currently a student at Western Michigan University. My major is secondary Education in English and Japanese.

I was born in Osaka, Japan. I came to the U.S. in 2017 to study English to become an English teacher. Since when I started learning English, I have always loved and wanted to teach others how amazing it is that we can communicate with people from different countries if you know English. But I also know how hard to lean a language and to be able to communicate with the language. ___________________________________

Fan Facts
I love dogs and foxes!
Erebus (the picture on the right) changed my life. When I was little, I was chased by Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever. Since then I was afraid of dogs until I met Erebus. Because he is so sweet and nice, I'm no longer afraid of dogs, and now I can even sleep with him.

Fox is one of my favorite animals. They are beautiful and cute. I would love to have a fox one day.

Since I love them so much, you might see their pictures in our class. Let me know your favorite animals!
I like traveling!
I love visiting new places, going to museums, seeing historical stuff, and eating delicious food there. One of my favorite experiences is that I drove to Michigan from Washington and visited places on the way.
One of the things on my bucket list is that I will visit all of national parks and monuments in the U.S.
I would love to hear your travel experiences!

I also like to take pictures.
You might be able to see my pictures somewhere!
